Beyond the Saddle is a Capsule inspired by Megs' current chapter: that time when the horse girl rolls up her stirrups to create a family. The ultimate sacrifice for the horse girl; a beautiful and transformative period. This time looks different for all of us, but there is one thing we all experience- a moment when we can't ride and have those difficult conversations around what the future looks like as a mom, and an equestrian.
For Megs' this meant loosing her 9-5 job as a fit model and selling her dream mare to save for the time off work. Meg came to the realization that both joy and grief could co-exist during this time of surrender and trust. The birth of something so beautiful- and dream of hers since she was a little girl, and the loss of a huge part of her, also a dream of hers since was a little girl.
Beyond the Saddle is our first ride with ready to wear silhouettes. A vision of what Meg wanted to wear entering motherhood both at the barn and at the shows- raising her daughter- not in the saddle, but beyond it. We introduce a dress inspired by Meg's daughter, Rocky Mae, a set dreamt up for Monday's at the barn just hanging with the horses, a blouse and much more. This time beyond the saddle has been spent refining, reimagining, sourcing and creating long lasting relationships to bring SC with us as we enter motherhood. Meg has always found inspiration in brands such as Ralph Lauren and first sought out to design for the working amateur. We feel this next phase of SC encompasses Megs' life as working fit model, mother and is rooted in the core of the brand.
